SCAN AMERICAN CORPORATION was born in 1977 to market and service the best Scandinavian
machinery to the U.S. food processing industry. I started doing business out of a spare bedroom in
my home until every bare spot was filled with machinery and parts. Business quickly expanded and
to keep up with demand, SCAN AMERICAN CORPORATION briefly rented commercial office space
and soon after rebuilt an old Vermont farm into a 5,000 square-foot office, warehouse, and test
kitchen center.
Through the years, SCAN AMERICAN CORPORATION has introduced more than its share of firsts to the food industry. The Frozen Block Grinder, Bone Collector, Pump Grinder, Pump Emulsifier, and Frozen Block Pump were all SCAN AMERICAN CORPORATION innovations. We sold the first machine to form Chicken McNuggets. These food industry advances were all very successful.
I realized that to achieve the company's full potential, SCAN AMERICAN
CORPORATION had to find a better geographical location. We made the big
move from Vermont to Kansas City, Missouri in October 1995. We are currently
located near Kansas City's International Airport. Our new location has made us
more readily accessible to our suppliers and customers alike and has proven
to be invaluable. Our new 14,000+ square feet of office space and our fully
equipped and improved test kitchen allow us to better service the needs of the
growing customer and supplier base. Our line of European specialty food
processing equipment has grown and our customer support services have
expanded to provide the greatest customer satisfaction.
SCAN AMERICAN CORPORATION is currently approaching our 30 th anniversary. We wish to thank our loyal customers who have made this possible. As we continue to grow into our next decade we look forward to working with you and offering the best equipment on the market.
